On 12 October 2024, the first Female and Non-binary weekend away attracted 17 runners from LFR.
Descending upon Dunwich, a small coastal village in Suffolk, the group took part in the endurance life event over distances ranging from a 10k to a marathon. Thankfully the weather was kind and the routes were scenic featuring a mixture of running on grass, sand and through forests with very little mud!
Following the race, some of the group had a dip in the sea, and later we had a nice well-earned meal in a country pub in Darsham, followed by a party to celebrate one of the member’s birthdays.
The weekend was a resounding success and plans are already afoot for 2025! Keep an ear out for future events from the female and non-binary LFR group. New members are also encouraged to join the WhatsApp group.
