Tuesday track must be booked and paid for using the Better app (Booking on the Better App | Better UK) in any time slot between 6.40 & 7.00 at Mile End Park Leisure Centre & Stadium (use the ‘Book Athletics’ button), and please then also add yourself to the Spond session if you are in the LFR Spond group, to assist the coaching team with planning the session.
Thursday track is back every other Thursday. Check Spond or the Coaching and Long Run Plan for dates.
Who are these sessions intended for?
These sessions are intended for runners who are already fit and who are looking to improve their running. These track sessions can help push you that extra bit.
The sessions will be physically demanding – you don’t need to be fast, but you do need to be able to run for an hour to get the most from the sessions. If you have never done a structured coaching session before, you are strongly advised to try a Wednesday night session before attending.
What sorts of exercises will it involve?
Warm ups, drills, intervals, and a cool down. The session will change from week to week – check the Coaching and Long Run Plan for the details for each session.
Where do we meet?
Mile End Park or Battersea Park Arena. Please note that for Mile End access is through the Stadium on Rhodeswell Road (at the junction with Copperfield Road – see map). We don’t have exclusive use of the track, so you will need to be mindful of other runners. The coach will give an intro to track etiquette as needed.
How much will it cost?
Entry to Mile End track is £3.85 payable via the Better app (you cannot turn up and pay, in line with all Better leisure centre bookings). Please bring a 20p coin for the lockers (non-refundable).
Battersea track is £4.80 payable at the stadium.
