London Frontrunners goes to Benidorm

We hope that all 133 Frontrunners who joined us in Benidorm and Elche had a phenomenal time for our 30th anniversary International Trip. We swam, sunbathed, danced, ate loads and did a bit of running in the world’s oldest half marathon while debuting our new London Frontrunners vests.

Friday night was a brilliant welcome to Benidorm with pre-drinks and a sunset walk to the beachfront restaurant for dinner. We chatted with new and old friends, danced and sang along with a Freddie Mercury tribute act, resulting in a very memorable first night. On Saturday, some headed to a delightful local waterfall, some climbed up to a giant cross, and others headed into Benidorm’s Old Town. We then descended on the hotel’s pool for a Eurovision Pool Party where we sang along to only the finest of Eurovision with some braving the cold pool for a swim.

At the races in Elche on Sunday we had some amazing PBs in both the 10k and half-marathon, with 78 of us taking part in the half-marathon and 37 running in the 10k. MR and TT who ran the half and DS and JC who ran the 10k, each crossed the finish line neck to neck with an impressive 00:00:00 apart.

Then came our big 90’s rooftop party with stunning views across Benidorm. We enjoyed guest appearances from Britney, Lady Di, Shakespears Sister, David Hasselhoff and lifeguards from Baywatch. The playlist put together by DJ TW kept us singing and dancing with some even taking a dip in the pool. It was the perfect way to end another utterly incredible international trip.

We hope you all had a fantastic time and hope to see many of you on the following trip.
