The 2016/17 cross country season has now concluded. Every October to March London Frontrunners enters the Metropolitan Cross Country League. The League consists of off-road cross country courses in different areas of Greater London. For more information check out the FAQs below, or drop us a message using the contact form.
What is the Metropolitan League?
The Met League is a team cross-country competition between 22 clubs from London, Essex and Hertfordshire. The league consists of five races between October and February held in glamorous locations around London. Every runner that takes part scores points for their club, so the more runners that come and run for LFR the points we score and the higher we finish in the league. No need to pre-register, just turn up on the day. In addition to scoring points in the Met League for each Met League race you run in you will also score points towards the inaugural LFR Club Championships.

What should I wear for Cross-Country?
You must wear a club vest for Met League races and it would be great if you could wear the new vest.
On your feet it is recommended that you wear trail shoes for the initial meets in the league, and then as we move into November-February cross-country spikes may be advisable depending on weather conditions.
What is this baking tradition you speak of?
As an LFR tradition, after the racing is done we will be sharing our best efforts at baking, so if you have time to bake beforehand please bring some cake or other goodies along (no soggy bottoms!).
