Fell racing in the Isle of Wight

After taking time off last year because of our international trip LFR was out in force as the largest team competing in the Isle of Wight Fell series.

Three tough races over two days, the series covers 35k with a combined climb higher than Mount Snowden. 31 Frontrunners competed in at least one race, with 16 completing the challenge of all three.

The official results show LFR taking third team place in the overall category (George L, Marius T, Stephen T). We also took fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth.

In the South East of England Athletics Association category (it’s complicated – different set of eligibility rules) we also took third (Stephen T, Nigel P, Adam F). And fifth, sixth and seventh.

The LFR results show the following members recognised:

Fastest finisher for all three races: George L
Fastest first timer for all three races: Nigel P
Explorer award for getting lost: Adam K
Dirtiest finish: Charlie P
Grand slammer (for finally completing all three): Glynn M

As well as testing our physical capabilities there was a quiz to test our mental prowess (including a a spices tasting round!).
